Solution Overview

Google Cloud VMware Engine is a fully managed VMware Cloud Foundation Stack enabling customers to run vSphere-based workloads within Google Cloud. This service delivers a complete VMware SDDC stack (vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T, HCX) to seamlessly migrate applications to the cloud without the need to refactor. Additional integration with Google Cloud native services provides advanced capabilities to improve intelligent business insights from existing data.

Goals & Objectives

This lab provides an on-demand sandbox intended for our customers, partners, and engineering teams to demonstrate and learn the capabilities of Google Cloud VMware Engine. Users are given administrative credentials to perform actions including creating and managing resources, migrating (cold, vMotion, or via HCX) virtual machines, and conducting disaster recovery failover tests. The scenarios in the lab are based off of the targeted use cases for Google Cloud VMware Engine: migrating and extending workloads to Google cloud, application modernization, backup and disaster recovery, and cloud-based end-user computing.
